Jimmy pages is blushing . Lol
This record was cut in 1949
I met Tommy and he's a really cool guy, he lived a long life and married a young woman and had kids when he was in his 60's and I met them all..........in England!! Ha ha at Pontin's Rye Beach around 2002 they were all there. Ha ha ha Tommy is great (is he still alive??). It was at a concert in England called "Rhythm Riot" and Jimmy Cavallo played and what a weekend!!
Interesting contrast to the Jimmy Rodgers version cut three years later. Echoes of the past here and sounds of the near future in the Rodgers version. Music was changing fast in those days.
He also did Juicy Fruit, another R&B classic.
Have heard it on Rockabilly-Radio...!!!
Head ON JIMMY REED!!!!!
Such a dirty song
Wow....
Davita muzikm # 571chi enjoy,,,,,,,,
1946! Just WOW
Amen.
All these great artist lost to music history. There were the foundation of Rock-&-Roll.......
Woooooooow 😮😮😮😮
AWESOME
84 years old rock and roll song.
Let's to the boogie. Two greats on guitar 👍👌🎸
In very loving memory of Mr. O´Neal Johnson (1920 - 1966 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten).
Sister Rosetta Tharpe was the first R'nR guitarist!!
BANG!
Note to self... Google John Brim.

One underrated musician. Fantastic song
And so I did. FIRST time. No regrets!!
So effing great - and obscure as hell.
Jump Boogie.... that's what they called it...and so do I !
Pony Poindexter OK ! guitar is better balanced in this one...This player hadn't quite gotten the overdriven sound right yet... nor did he keep the clean sound of jazz players.. so the fuzzy distortion is just too bad...keeps this from being the really great record it could be.
190
I'd say a good record ruined by a bad guitarist.
Classic Lyrics... Momma got chicken.. thought it was a duck...
The Origins of punk rock... right here !
sounds like 1952 not 60
The intro: the Beatles The rest: Fats Domino
Even a beginner on guitar an play this and, no, Chuck Berry's and John Lennon's intros were all different from this and each others. I think most commenting under this video do not know how to even play a guitar and/or are tone deaf.
John Lennon's guitar intro for Revolution was taken directly from this. People like you need to grow up. Lennon confessed NUMEROUS times to taking bits from other songs. Lennon himself pointed out that the opening to Richard Barrett's song Some Other Guy sounds like the opening to Instant Karma, or rather the other way around.
@@erikkillmonger5624 Obviously you don't have an ear for music and you don't hear the change. Grow up? I'll be 74 in July and I have been playing guitar for decades. RACIST!!!
@@JimDeferio BOTH songs open with that solo guitar riff. It's not a coincidence. Yes, there is a slight difference but it's quite OBVIOUS that Lennon took his opening for Revolution from this song just like he took the opening to Instant Karma, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, from Some Other Guy. Just like he took the lick for I Feel Fine, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, from Bobby Parker's Watch Your Step. GROW. UP. Nothing "racist" about acknowledging the truth: the Beatles loved Black music and took from it. Sorry if that shakes your infantile (regardless of being a septuagenarian), pathetic hero worshipping view of the Beatles. Fuck you, you in-denial moron.
@@JimDeferio BOTH songs begin with the same solo guitar riff and the same drum punctuation. Of course there's a SLIGHT difference but it's OBVIOUS that Lennon took the idea, sound and riff for his intro to Revolution from this song. Just like he took the intro for Instant Karma, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, from Richard Barrett's Some Other Guy. Just like he took the lick for I Feel Fine, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, from Bobby Parker's Watch Your Step. It's not "racist" to acknowledge the plain truth: the Beatles loved Black music and were directly influenced by it and took directly from it. Sorry if this explodes your pathetic, infantile (despite being a septuagenarian), in-denial hero-worship of the Beatles. GROW. UP.
@@erikkillmonger5624 Racist like you love to level charges of wrong doing against white people but how about indicting Chuck Berry for his blatant thefts? Berry copied that "riff" but there is nothing but crickets from you. Berry outright stole songs from Johnnie Johnson, a black pianist, but what is theft from another black, right? Listen to "Roll Over Beethoven", for just one example, and tell me if that is a guitar song or a piano song! Johnson was going to sue Berry but time ran out. And just where did Berry get that country sound from??? How about Jimi Hendrix? Paul McCartney did a blistering psychedelic guitar bridge on "Taxman" and George used the 7#9 chord over and over on that song (released August 1966) and with this and Eric Clapton's guitar bridge/solo on Cream''s cover of "Spoonful" (released Dec. 1966), Hendrix steals their sound and chords and even uses some of the same triplets on "Purple Haze" that McCartney used on "Taxman"! And as if the theft wasn't complete, the 7#9 chord is now called the "Hendrix chord" even though The Beatles used it prior to 1966, black jazz musicians used it in the 1950's and Classical composers used it centuries ago. How about all of the Celtic music that gave birth to the American blues. Trace, "O Death", for just one example, back and see what you find.
I played it on 1,5 Tempo ,ohh yeahhh ,crazy man crazy 💥💫❤️🔥
Think I might still have this 45!
Great version
🎶😅👍
Chank !
Elvis Who?
Great Stuff !!!
Have heard it today on Rockabilly-Radio...!!!
One more to listen, if we want to play the real deal. The whole LP, shared with Elmore James is a must to have.
This here's the Wolf comin' at ya honey.
